Destination: Noorvik!


The town of Noorvik (pronounced NOR-vick) is located on the Kobuk River 45 miles east of Kotzebue in the Northwest Arctic Borough. According to the Alaska Division of Commerce, Community & Economic Development, Noorvik means "a place that is moved to." It was established by fishermen and hunters in the early 1900s.
